Mrs. Anita Chunara’s teaching career began when she completed her teaching certification from American Montessori Society. She taught at a Montessori school for a few years and then decided to teach in a public school. She returned to school and worked on earning a Master’s Degree while working at DeWitt Clinton Elementary School.
Her first class was an incredible group of third grade students that she taught during her student teaching term. Now, she teaches second graders. She has always loved working with students and helping them to grow in their educations. She believes that all children can learn if given the right tools. Her classroom strives to be a place where all children have the opportunity to show their individual strengths and build upon their unique differences.
In her spare time, she loves to cook food from different counties and try out different recipes. She also reads various nonfiction and religious books. Playing board games with her daughter has also been one of her favorite activities. She is also involved in her church and volunteers there often. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially around the holidays when everyone is in town and in the mood to celebrate.
